“If anyone ever asks if I've ever fallen in love at first sight, I shall say yes. For one glorious moment on the 21st of December 2006.”
― One Day in December

I cannot start this post off without acknowledging how beautiful the cover art it. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but I mean look at it, how could i not pick this up!
The novel is written in two perspectives one being Laurie and the other Jack. One Day in December Laurie sees a boy (Jack) standing at the bus stop, and naturally he sees her sitting in the bus. Making a split second decision to get on the bus deems it to be too late as the bus speeds off.
Spending the last twelve months searching for this mystery bus boy she decides it time to move on, little does she know fate has other plans and at last they meet again but this time he is dating her best friend....
“Despite the fairy-tale snowstorm out there, this isn’t Narnia. This is London, real life, where hearts get kicked and bruised and broken, but somehow they still keep beating.”
― One Day in December
This book shows a glimpse into real life. How imperfect and messy it can be. The ups and downs. Most importantly, the stories that can come out of it. Everything that can happen whilst trying to find love and be happy.
Set over the course of 9 years Laurie and Jack become good friends and try lead their own lives seperate to one another, but fate has other ideas.
“You tread lightly through life, but you leave deep footprints that are hard for other people to fill.”
